Location United Kingdom Suffolk Lowestoft | Hello All :) X
You still have to sunbathe as I believe all it does is inject melatonin into your body which if you're lacking, means you'll be pale. I just use fake tans from a bottle. Why would you want to stick a needle in yourself or have pills every day? Isn't a "chow" a breed of dog? |

Location United Kingdom West Yorkshire bradford | I used them when the first came out and was very ill from the injections, they made all my freckles go alot darker and larger, if your older the age marks also go darker. They make you dizzy and feel very sick when you take them and as angel de lite said the colour ends up very un natural and people as go to far and take them constantly so they end up mucky brown not tanned. I hope this helps Summer |

Location United Kingdom Devon Torquay | Hi girls where I live 80% of the people (men & female) are using melanotan, There are some really nasty side effects including violent sickness, upset stomachs, headaches and thats the good ones! A few of the unlucky ones have ended up in hospital, I seriously wouldn't consider doing it. Although you do get a good tan it's only achieved by multiple sun shower/bed sessions and you will eventually become unnaterally dark. It does change the pigment of your skin and you will notice freckles and moles appearing (NOT a good sign) I don't know if any of you caught Gok wans programme on channel 4 a couple of weeks ago as it featured the tanning injection, the lady who used it had changed her pigment that much it was really hard for the hospital to test her skin for skin cancer! Plus it's expensive my friend is paying at least a couple of hundred pounds a month - I say FAKE TAN all the way! P.S. White to Brown fake tan is amazing dosen't have a strong smell and gives a natural looking tan xxxx |

Location United Kingdom West Yorkshire Leeds | Already PM'd about this but just to say that the injections obviously affect different people in different ways. Some people get sick and some people dont. I do thnk that if someone wants to try it then why not, if you get ill stop doing it. Just my personal opinion | ||

Location United Kingdom London London | Disclaimer 1: Melanotan I and Melanotan II are not approved for use, and I do not advocacate using any illegal or untested substance. Disclaimer 2: I am not a doctor or medical expert, and I am reporting my interpretation of personal observations. A very close friend of mine has used Melanotan II. You inject it subcutaneously using an insulin pin, usually in a convenient place such as the abdomen. The effects were dramatic without the use of extra UV from the sun or sunbeds, and extremely dramatic when used in conjunction with UV. My friend did not experience any of the unpleasant side effects often reported (mainly nausea) even at a higher dose than average. I would also strongly emphasise (in contradiction to what someone else has written in this thread) that the colour of the tan is 100% natural for that person: this drug causes the melanocytes (pigment generating cells) in your body to produce more pigment than normal, and the colour is therefore EXACTLY what it would be if you had more pigment for any natural reason. However, in the early stages of the treatment, there can be some areas of hyperpigmentation, but these gradually become less noticeable as the surrounding areas catch up with the tan. Also, some body parts tan more strongly than they usually would with UV alone, for example the lips may get darker, and eye colour may change slightly. I have observed (by close examination of my friend) that all these changes are reversable once treatment is stopped. The injections do not cause any marks or skin damage if done correctly using an insulin needle (which is very thin, and routinely used by thousands of diabetics every day without discomfort or cosmetic issues). If you see someone with dramatic needle marks, it wasn't from performing a SC injection with the correct infection control procedures with a sterile insulin pin, and it may be questioned whether perhaps that person was also using certain other illegal (and possibly dangerous) drugs (which may have been administered intravenously or intramuscularly, depending on the drug). Sometimes people admit to using something they think is “minor”, to deflect suspicion about use of something harder. (I'm not saying this is the case for the person mentioned—it's just a general observation.) PS: it did cause noticeable freckles every time my friend used it, but never affected his moles or created new moles. |
