Location United Kingdom Tyne and Wear Newcastle upon Tyne & North Wales/Cheshire | Well i was shooting pics for a friends company yesterday who i also work for and used there own camera. Not sure what type of Fuji it was but it seemed pretty easy to use and the pics seems ok (i hope) So what do some of you lot think of using it to start out in photography? Also which model? Oh, and if anyone has 1 for sale let me know! |

Location United Kingdom Tyne and Wear | I use a nikon, if you could find one i would go for a D200, they dont make them anymore but i know a few people that use them and a few people that used to own one and they regret selling them. Somebody off my college course had a fuji, it was a good starting point for him, but it didnt have all the features of a SLR that he wanted as was a prosuma model, i think there like a bridge between a compact and a slr. |

Location United Kingdom Staffordshire stoke-on-trent | there are loads of great starter cams about! the D200 is a good one, or the canon 1000D is another! i guess you are best just picking one up and seeing how it 'feels' for you! |

Location United Kingdom Birmingham | Thanks for the advice guys!Well Keith your work looks great so if mine comes even close to that i'll be happy lol! Do you have any experience using DSLR cameras? if not hen PERSONALLY i wouldnt spend £500+ on one. My first STARTER camera was a bridge camera .. Fuji FZ20. I've just seen one on eBay for £11. LOL. If that stays under £50 i'd snap it up myself. Does everything you need to learn about photography. Same features etc. From that I moved to a DSLR, a nikon D50. Unless you can warrant the costs and have a good understanding of the technical aspects of photography, i wouldnt be looking at somehting like the D200 as my first starter camera. Just my advice. |

Location United Kingdom London Acton | I would suggest that ANY camera that is an SLR and comes within your budget you buy and use. Its the experience of using a chunk of plastic, metal and glass to hone your technical skills that is so important. Wait until you have these technical skills before exploring other makes of camera which would be more sophisticated and more knobs to play with. Scott |

Location United Kingdom Derbyshire Draycott | If your looking for a digital SLR, the a secondhand Fuji S3 or S5 would make a great choice. Less ecpensive than the Nikon equivalent, uses Nikon glass etc. and has a better tonal range than the Nikon, so is more forgiving on exposure (most of the time). You can pick them up on ebay for a reasonable price, and as you progress, move onto to Nikon camera's without losing the value of your add-ons. Shaun PS - If you are interested, I have a S3 body for sale. |

Location United Kingdom Tyne and Wear Newcastle upon Tyne & North Wales/Cheshire | Thanks for all your help! Yes i got a bit confused using a friends canon i just need something to point and shoot (well a bit better than an ordinary compact obviously) until i get used to it hence the Fuji idea as it seemed rather easy to use. |
