Location United Kingdom London | I am usually pretty happy with this site....in fact very happy, but I think thats going to change and I think I may not be alone. I dont mean the usual whinging stuff which Its more that this site is my workplace...or one of them, and if it ceases or diminishes as a usefull tool for this then it becomes useless, if I wanted to do social networking (which I dont.. I would use facebook)
I am really concerned about this new casting section thingy...you just cant see the wheat from the chaff and I cant see people been keen to trawl through pages and pages, I certainly couldnt be bothered.
I'm not sure what was wrong with the old system...seemed perfectly adequate to me....? Ok, maybe the casting thingy hasnt had a chance to settle yet, but I honestly cant see why Matt chose to put in so much time and effort to fix something which wasnt broken.
I also have a beef, a major beef with the event days section...which it seems applies only to non-profit events (I only just found this out) Last time there was a studio day with Tibby Muldoon at my place, she placed it very successfully in this section, without comment. Katy Pectin tried to do the same and it got binned. . Ok, fair enough...it now clearly states what is appropriate and what is not, but there should be a similar section for "normal" studio days...they will simply get lost in the casting section.
Maybe I got out of bed in the wrong side this morning, but today Purestorm is by no means my favourite place
I need to effectivelly advertise paid work, and this site is the best vehicle for this...or was...its also very cost effective, I'm embarrased by how little it costs...it is fantastic value for money...and for the service it has given me I would happily pay ten times the current subscription.
I dont think I'm imagining it, I feel a wind of change happening, Purestorm rose from nowhere and took over from Net-model in a very short space of time (2 years ago Net-Model was the only worthwhile model site...now its hopeless) there is no reason why the reverse cant happen...
Maybe I'm wrong, but I dont think I'm alone in my views......
Moderator Comment: Matt will be making a post on this topic when he gets home this evening
explaining the changes he has been and intends making to address some of the issues raised by the membership on the new system. Although some clealy don't seem to be comfortable with it yet please bear in mind that 600 Casting Calls have been created over the last six days which is considerably more that even Matt hoped for . |

Location United Kingdom Hampshire Petersfield | 75% agree Iain the casting section needs a bit of 'tweeking'. Once you drop off the front page noone will look at it. |

I have to agree with you. This must be heart wrenching for Matt to read as he has obviously put major hours in on the 'upgrade'. It somehow does not flow. My personal opinion is that all that is happening upon the site should be visible from the front page. ........ A user should not have to go hunting in a heavily populated forest area that also contains a large number of weeds and brambles. Nick |

Location United Kingdom Devon Plymouth | not being funny or going against the grain too much here... i kinda agree the casting section is a little flawed however...other sites use casting sections to enable the clear divide between chat and work... it is a great idea in my opinion however yes it maybe needs some attention. but thanks Matt you are wonderful and your time and hard work is seriously appreciated. |

I'm still a free member, so my views probably don't count as much, but I have to agree with Iain. I regularly hire models. I used to enjoy browsing through the 'Looking for Work' forums. I've had a quick look through the Castings section several days ago and not bothered with it since. I appreciate this site and appreciate the hours that Matt and the moderating team put into it. Is there no chance of having the forums back? Best regards Paul |

Location United Kingdom Devon Plymouth | The "problem" with the new casting system is that it combines 6 forum sections into one, and each seemed to have at least 20+ new posts a day. The search on the new casting section is being refined as the one failing with the old postings method seemed to be that the location was not searchable so one had to scan across several forums to find local work. As always users are resistive to change so when the new casting was introduced there was a lot of negative feedback rather then giving it time to settle in and be refined. I understand what you are saying Iain because you want your posts to be widely seem, of course models looking for work at your standard need to be able to quickly find you calls, and if they are too restrictive in their search they may well miss your opportunities. For "locals" amateurs like me the casting call can work and with some refining of the search options I think it can work equally well for Iain. |

Location United Kingdom Lancashire Brock | It does seem very jumbled at the moment. Really it would be better to have seperate boards, as before , depending on what a person is looking for or offering. It's unclear what search to use when looking for models offering their services. Presumably it's "I'm looking for a casting call for photographers" but that doesn't sound right. |
