Location United Kingdom Buckinghamshire Stoke Mandeville | You can`t have and exclusivity contract on a battery, there are many replica`s out there, i`ve purchased one myself which actually has more power than my original Nikon battery and lasts just as long,if not longer than the original and at a fraction of the price :) I was referring to the the OEMs rebadging and selling the 'genuine' designs on (eg. if Canon contracted a firm to produce its batteries, I was implying the company could not sell them on under a different label). And by design I'm referring to the package, not just the cells contained within. Of course there are replicas out there but they're reverse engineered - much like any third party Canon lens for example (as Canon have never officially allowed anyone access to the specification for its EF lens mount design). |

Location United Kingdom West Midlands Birmingham | i've had copy batteries before, they didn't last as long as the OEM on the flip side i use a copy of the canon battery pack for my speedlite and it performs no different to the canon one (and is less than half price!) |
