Location United Kingdom Hampshire Basingstoke | My daughter is going to take up a photography course at college, and she needs a 35mm camera and lens with manual operating capability. Therefore, I am looking for a Nikon/Canon/Pentax camera and something like a 50mm lens and/or a 28-105 zoom or similar. I have a pretty limited budget for this, and although I am looking on eBay too, I wondered if any of you guys had some old kit they would like to part with. |

Location United Kingdom Essex | Probably best to get something like a Canon T90.....although quite a complicated camera in some respects, it is manual focus, has all the basic functions easily accessible.....but once mastered, it is a stepping stone straight to a 1 series camera if necessary. If that is too complicated however then you cant go wrong with a FTb QL.....real piece of engineering and really basic metering...absolutely nothing is automatic apart from the lens stepping down to the set aperture on exposure. |

Location United Kingdom Fife Dunfermline | If she is needing a camera that will force her to do everything manually, why not have a look at the old praktica MTL5 (or 5B) with the kit lens it came with. They go for pennies nowadays including the lens and are as tough as old boots. Mine still works and has been battered about heavily over the years | |
