| SimonD Photographer Location United Kingdom Shropshire Shrewsbury | Well Said, the video is super and produced to such a high standard. Also I must add Simon is a great guy and both times I have worked with him he has been helpful and honest. Thanks Judy, really enjoyed our shoots too, I sucked at lighting art nude but a real treat for me, the high key with orange material set I am very proud of |

| attitude Photographer Location United Kingdom Birmingham Walsall | Wow what great quality - great use of the glidetrack. Be interested to know what setting combinations you used (ISO and shutter speed). If you want a reasonable range of copyright free music take a look at what vimeo offer. Thanks for sharing - inspired |

| SimonD Photographer Location United Kingdom Shropshire Shrewsbury | Reading magazines like 'Photo Professional' and 'Professional Photographer', the latest buzzword seems to be "convergence". The convergence between still photography and video. Many professionals seem to be now using the new technology available to incorporate video into their product offering. Convergence eh, I can see me overusing that word for a while! - lets see if www.simondconvergence.com is free.... But I really do hope my studio business will include more video work, it's pretty adictive but gobbles up the cash on more gear. |

| SimonD Photographer Location United Kingdom Shropshire Shrewsbury | I shot an artsy conceptual video piece a week ago (it was a lot of fun and I think we got some good stuff, but the photographer says it'll take a few months to put together) - I've seen a few similar pieces recently, and I suspect that as video gets more integrated with dSLRs there will be more demand for art models to shoot experimental concepts for amateurs, just as art models often do today with stills. I think that in the amateur artsy market (for want of a better phrase) there will be more call for video work in the future as people experiment with new equipment. That will probably go hand in hand with an increase in moving portfolios/showreels. Well that's my best guess anyway. Time will tell. I would really like to see that when it's ready Tansy, I'm finding it difficult to get my head around the whole art nude & video 'convergence' (I had to use that word lol) as it's all about individual poses, though I would imagine dreamily drifting between poses would look amazing. |

| Diabolik Photographer Location United Kingdom West Sussex Brighton/Worthing | I'm actually much more interested in film-making and music than I am in photography. There are so many aspects to pull together when making a film, even a short show-reel. I think it's a really well produced, crisp and colourful bit of film. I've got to agree about the music though - and this is the thing with film - you have to treat every single aspect with equal care and importance. If someone had created some music for it with as much care and skill as your film-making then it would've enhanced it a bit more. If I was a shameless plugger I would say that I compose soundtracks and backing tracks and would love to do something like this - but I'm not going to say that. That would be cheap of me. |

| SimonD Photographer Location United Kingdom Shropshire Shrewsbury | Nice video, horrible muzak The biggest problem with videos like this is that generally the 'royalty free' music is free because it isn't good. You can use soundtrack generator programs or steal non-royalty free music, but the soundtrack on this type of video is always difficult (unless you compose and play your own music). In an ideal world (where you could license music for the soundtrack) I think that this particular video would have suited The Beatles 'Norwegian Wood' or similar .... I knew that was coming and quite right too, music was always going to be our problem, we did try & find something but with limited choice (we even tried to compose our own in Garage Band) and tried to get some Moby stuff from his site but the form was too restrictive. Believe it or not I went through 18 CD's of royalty free music I bought and this was the best choice to set a happy mood while keeping in pace, I do kinda like how it gives a happy tone, though I totally agree a better soundtrack would make a big difference. My next casting will be: 'Video model able to perform, sing and play instruments required - TFV' |

Thanks for sharing - inspired Cheers attitude, this was the first time I had used the glidetrack with a model (my cat excluded) so was fun learning, though I did learn I need 2 tripods to support the thing as it rocks a lot on a single one during the swipes. Settings from memory, ISO varied between ISO 100 to 320 in shaded trees, f4 mostly and shutter 50th, the shallow DOF stuff was shot at 120mm zoom, the weather was perfect for the soft look though (cloud cover = gods softbox) I didn't know Vimeo did music so will go take a peep thanks. |

| Grez Model | Brings a good point actually from the model perspective, the internet certainly demanded that models ended up becoming model slash performers and in my field of work I could not book models that didn't do video which sucked as I missed out on some fantastic models. Great video by the way. And i can imagine this to be true. I went to casting for Jet2 the other week, there was some great models but there was clear difference between them and the actors there. So i can see why some people wouldn't book models that haven't done video. Even the most basic DFS advert i did requires a small level of acting. So the two (still/video) from the angle i am looking at go hand in hand. So on that note i think putting a dvd of video work is good idea and i will get one made up when i get a minute lol |
