| tonycsm Photographer Location United Kingdom East Yorkshire Driffield | I have nothing against people pushing themselves beyond their capacity - that is their choice - on the other hand, horses don't have any choice as to whether they wish to participate in races etc! | |

| Lifescapes Photographer Location United Kingdom Cumbria Kendal, Lancaster | Yea sure, we'll all become couch potatoes watching so called 'reality' TV and die in our living rooms, unnoticed and unloved. I'm damn sure I know which way I would rather go when the time comes. That's with my boots on and a camera in my hand. |

These are sportspeople that have died of natural causes doing what they choose to do. The horses died after being injured doing something chosen for them. As they can't choose for themselves it is up to other people to hold the sport to scrutiny and ensure that safety levels are as high as can be. But yes, if fatalities in other sports reached anywhere near the number of horses that die racing each year then yes it would be banned. Personally I favour the option that if a horse is killed racing the jockey must be put down too. Safety would improve overnight |

| mattharper Photographer Location United Kingdom Devon Paignton | A lot of people die as a result of having sex. Apart from being beaten to death by a jealous partner, lots have heart failure or strokes. Mind, if I had a choice ........... Ban that too then, shall we? Life is full of these awful tragedies, we just have to accept that it happens. We cannot wrap everyone up in cotton wool, it would be a terrible world if we did |

| JenSomerfield Model Location United Kingdom Bristol Plymouth (holiday) / Bristol (term) | So if sports were banned, obesity, hypertension, blood cholesterol levels, stokes, cardiovascular disease, etc would all rise and more people would die, just slower. Worst idea ever. You can kill yourself doing too much of anything. Should we ban chocolate too because if I ate a kilo every hour I'd probably die. |
