| Webbo2 Photographer Location United Kingdom South Yorkshire Rotherham | I've recently uploaded some photos to Purestorm, and they look really dull compared to how they appeared on my computer initially. So the first thing that I checked was the colour space, and they are taken in sRGB just like all of th photos that I take. I remember somebody else having a similar problem which turned out to be their browser, so I checked. Sure enough my Chrome browser seems to be causing the problem, as internet explorer displayed them just fine. Here is a print screen of both browsers, chrome on the left, internet explorer on the right: ![]() Any ideas why this has happened? Or how to fix it? I'd much rather stick with Chrome than use internet explorer. |

| alexcrawford Photographer Location United Kingdom Essex Chelmsford | hi jack, thanks for identifying this as ive been having the same thoughts. i too use chrome. i've been "boosting" my photographs to ensure they have the look i require when on the web, but didnt realise that the i.e. users will probably be dazzled by them. my guess is there wont be a solution as it'll be the individual browser manufacturer that decides upon their photo interpretation. hope i'm wrong though... |

| mph Photographer Location United Kingdom Cheshire Crewe | Try Firefox? This is colour managed and should sort out any such problems. Look at this page in Chrome http://www.gballard.net/firefox/ Wide gamut monitors also cause problems with non colour aware applications - even with sRGB images |

| Webbo2 Photographer Location United Kingdom South Yorkshire Rotherham | I'm away from my computer now, but looking on my iPhones safari they are dull on here too.....so they are displaying ok in IE, but not Chrome or iPhone Safari..... Would it make a difference to upload them from Internet explorer.....or would I just get the same thing once I tried looking at them in Chrome? |

How you upload them will not make any difference. What you need to do of course is work out which is actually correct! Seriously try Firefox for colour managed browsing - although Safari is more or less colour managed too. |

Seriously try Firefox for colour managed browsing - although Safari is more or less colour managed too. The thing that's confused me the most is the fact that all of my images look exactly the same wether on chrome, ie or safari. But these uploaded today change between browsers....so what is it that's setting these apart from the rest of my images? I'll have a look at Firefox when I get back to my computer, but hopefully I'll be able to get these images to display properly on chrome like the rest of my port. |

| mgphotomedia Photographer | That image is not in sRGB colour space. In Photoshop go Edit/Convert to Profile and select sRGB as the destination space, re-save the jpg and re-upload it and you should be fine. |

This is a Browser issue. The problem is that there is no common web viewing standard.
Each browser company effectively tries to make their product look better or more attractive than the competition. |

| mph Photographer Location United Kingdom Cheshire Crewe | That image is not in sRGB colour space. Grr! I trusted him without checking! It is in aRGB - which alyways appears flat if viewed in a non colour managed browser. (but why you would choose to do so I don't know) |
