| Lifescapes Photographer  Location United Kingdom Cumbria Kendal, Lancaster | I'm planning to visit Lewes next month and on the assumption that it might actually be a touch warmer and dryer in the south than it is in the permafrost we call the north of England, I hope to actually get out and shoot whilst I'm there. I have very little knowledge of the area so if anyone's got any great locations they want to share suitable for my sort of stuff, then I'd love to hear from you. Looking for anything with a bit of character, old buildings, good backdrops, that sort of thing. OS grid references or Google Maps data much appreciated. Also if you know of any good establishments that serve Adnams ales or something as good and want to join me for a glass or two, I would be happy to meet up.  Phil |

(The place is totally open, so not sure that you'd get adequate privacy for nude work. Hmmmm...) Adnams - whilst I share your enthusiasm for their beer, Lewes's own brewery - Harveys - turns out some rather good stuff. And their brewery shop at the bottom end ot the town is well worth a visit. |

For your kind of photography, may I suggest the wonderfully photogenic South Downs. A much softer landscape than Cumbria. To be more specific, try Cuckmere Haven and the Seven Sisters area. If you are looking for a local model, may I suggest the lovely, very professional, Fiona York. ("Fionajane")- though I believe her Dad has more in depth knowledge of the best local spots for model shoots! |

| Siras Photographer | ... along from Cuckmere Haven you have Birling Gap, which has it's own nudist section (apparently) - best at low tide, when the sand is exposed and you can use the white cliffs and/or seascape as your backdrop. There's also an ok-ish onsite pub. I'd second the idea of using the rolling chalk hills of the South Downs - Sussex is pretty much my favourite county, but the only problem is finding somewhere undisturbed to shoot. |
