| bryonyphotography Photographer Location United Kingdom Derbyshire Mansfield | I don't really get it. It says in your profile notes that you have been a professional for 5 years but your profile is just pictures of your wife? |

| danieljackson Photographer Location United Kingdom Edinburgh | I can see how that might be confusing. I'm a professional wedding photographer, and I am hoping to move into portraiture / fashion / editorial work. Got to start somewhere! You can see a bit more of my work here http://jacksonphotographic.co.uk/portfolio.html | |

| frankpht Photographer Location United Kingdom London | For a guy with four years experience you don't have a lot to show for it. I've checked your site and there's not much there. So you need to get cracking and post a casting. Or reply to some in your area but you might find it tough going as your port isn't jaw droppingly exciting. No reflection on your missus. |

| ColinPierce Photographer Location United Kingdom Merseyside Bootle | Sorry but have to say for someone with supposed over 4 years experience I can find no evidence of it. Your portfolio is very limited which I guess I could understand if, as you say you have been doing weddings for those 4+ years. However. your website has only 3 wedding pictures on and 2 of those are from the same wedding. As for the images on here, I'm afraid average. Again limited examples and even your website again only has your wife and I am guessing your child on it. Think you need to get a larger variety before asking for a critique. |

| Vish87 Photographer This member has been reset to pending Location United Kingdom Buckinghamshire Milton Keynes | You best get creative as your portfolio is pretty vanilla to say the least Also the sample portfolio link is dead http://jacksonphotographic.co.uk/sampleportfolio.html I am hoping to move into portraiture / fashion / editorial work. Had a look on your website and not really much content for a photographer with 4 years of experience I would suggest uploading more of your work and then requesting critique |

| StNeots Photographer Location United Kingdom Bedfordshire Potton | For five years experience, not a lot to show. I'd expect to see more of the head of the main subject in this shot - taken from your web site. Again, cutting off the top of the hair and the bottom of the dress just makes this look cramped. Sometimes a little more space around the subject gives the picture room to breathe. Most of the shots of your wife look bored, as if she is just doing it to help you. An enthusiastic model should produce better images. All credit to her for supporting you by agreeing to pose, though. I think the preganant wife and the baby crawling are better than these. Good luck with shooting a model you're not married to. Hopefully you will get a better reception next time you post. |

| stolenfaces Photographer Location United Kingdom London West London | Your profile: "I have been a professional photographer for four years now, shooting... modeling portfolios. " Which one is true? You need to read to the full quote from his profile, and asume that he might have shot more than 1 for his wife, then he has increased the number of portfolio shoots from zero to one or two. There may be a tendency in this day and age for people to big up their experience and qualifications because there aren't any jobs. This is a sad fact of life. In my day you just scribbled a few notes on the application form, said you'd got a degree and got an interview. Then you decided whether you could possibly contemplate doing the offered job for the rest of your life. Anyway that isn't relevant, but them neither's all these questions about the OPs experience. He asked for a review of his pictures as displayed on his profile, not for the Spanish Inquisition. I think it's really rude and not a little agressive to answer a reasonable request for a review of photos in this way (including posting photos in the forum without even the implied permission of the copyright holder). Whilst I would say there are too many photos with sunglasses and really there isn't enough variety of style which is emphasised by there being only one model. I'm at a loss to understand the earlier comment about the model looking bored.... this just seems to be a stock response rolled out when the photos aren't just cheesy glamour with cheesy expressions. |

| StNeots Photographer Location United Kingdom Bedfordshire Potton | He asked for a review of his pictures as displayed on his profile, not for the Spanish Inquisition. I think it's really rude and not a little agressive to answer a reasonable request for a review of photos in this way (including posting photos in the forum without even the implied permission of the copyright holder). He brought the pictures on his portfolio into the thread himself. So he was not just asking for a review of the ones on his profile. You can see a bit more of my work here http://jacksonphotographic.co.uk/portfolio.html Threads where pictures are identified by descriptions are apt to get confusing when the OP takes them down and then people comment on comments that don't apply to the profile that they see. Links to actual pictures have the advantage that when the author takes such action it is obvious that the comments don't apply. |
