| alexkidd Photographer Location United Kingdom East Yorkshire Hull | My gf is about to finish her MA in fine art and pgcert (or something like that) and we're looking for places to relocate to and wakefield has been suggested by her because of the arty gubbins in the area. I'd be looking to move my wedding business over there as well so I suppose I was wondering if anyone knew what the city was like economically (mind you can't be much worse than hull) and if there is an area i should be looking to live in? or avoid Any thoughts/advice/tips etc gratefully recieved |

| PeterH Photographer Location United Kingdom South Yorkshire | Wakefield and Hull will be a prety much like for like swap. You'll probably lose the smell of kippers, though. Every town has its good and bad areas of course, but overall its pretty much low-end. And as a bit of trivia, Wakefield is the largest town not to have a league football club. |

| peterbuchanphoto Photographer Location United Kingdom West Yorkshire Leeds | Totaly depends on which bit. I lived in WF3 which somehow was technically Leeds (for council tax anyway) and it was mostly working class who own their own home, skilled trades peeps and some folk owning their own small business. Ton of chavs for a few years but they grew up and fecked off about 2 years ago. Areas around the city centre look a bit rougher. Rents a damn site cheaper than like for like areas of Leeds too |

| RupertRudd Photographer Location United Kingdom East Yorkshire Hull | Shakey Wakey? I suggest you take a long and thoughtful look at Horbury. Good area, ready access to motorways, both North / South and East / West, Wakefield very close, property prices reasonable. Both Leeds and Sheffield nearby. Rail close by. Rhubarb growing area in the season, vineyard not far away, A1 an easy access, some jolly good pubs. Now starting to wonder why I love Hull!!! |
