| DavidRadford Photographer Location United Kingdom Bridgend Blaengarw | I have been considering upgrading from the mkii to mkiii. Has anyone made the same upgrade and if so is the cost worth the few improvements. |

Ask RedChecker. He has probably analysed every feature of the Mk III and compared it to every other camera available. |

| Chandos Photographer Location United Kingdom Merseyside Liverpool | Ask RedChecker. He has probably analysed every feature of the Mk III and compared it to every other camera available. Redchecker only has a 5DMk1 and was asking about upgrading to a 5DMkII. The poster really need to get his answer from someone who actually owned a 5DMkII and have upgraded to a 5DMkIII. |

| Mcroshaw Photographer Location United Kingdom Berkshire | I have and it was worth it to me..its better in every way for the stuff I do, but I do a lot of event and low light photography, which makes it a huge upgrade ( AF system, dual cards, silent shooting, ISO performance, build quality are all much better and useful for weddings etc ). If I was just doing studio work I wouldn't bother because in good lighting conditions ( which I don't normally have these days ) image quality is the same as the 5d2. So it depends what you do. I know ChrisY also upgraded and loves it though and I believe he shoots mainly studio, so maybe ask Chris as well. For me its a perfect high end all rounder, which is exactly what I need. |

| RedChecker Photographer Location United Kingdom Buckinghamshire Stoke Mandeville | Redchecker just said he was going to buy a Mk III so you can be sure he's done the analysis and can tell you everything about the potential benefits. I've decided there's no alternative so it' either the 5d3 or nothing so there's little point in doing research, although I did read about the new AF in the manual and it made me dizzy. The mk2 is too old to dump £1600 on IMO and the 1Dx is out of my league financially but I'm waiting until the mk3 drops to ~£2500 before making a move. If it's anything like the D800 my boss owns in terms of dynamic range, focussing, noise etc. it'll be astonishing. |
