Some clever soul found a spigot that would join 2 poles together on a backdrop support but I cant find the post. Anyone know where I can buy such a thing?

Try Calumet - they seem to stock loads of studio bits and pieces

You don’t say what kind of pole it is so this may or may not be of any help but a local camping shop should have bits to join poles together as they are used in some tents and tend to need to be replaced. Hope it’s helpful.

Just download the Manfrotto grip catalogues for a start.
If you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bullshit

Still no luck.I may have to have something made up. Looking for something that will sit on the top of a support stand and provide two mounting points for a pole so that I can have two paper rolls next to each other.

Calumet do various including their own brand - look at the background support section

Failing that I have used two super clamps to do the same job

Take a look at Disco Equipment Suppliers.

You will find a range of strong, good quality stands used by mobile discos for loud speakers and disco lighting that can be readily adapted for photography.

I have found them cheaper and more robust than most offered for photography.

On the down side, they tend to be larger than most ‘photography’ stands when it comes to transport.

Thanks guys. Im concerned that a single clamp wouldnt be safe enough and two would need 2 stands. Disco stands etc would also be too bulky. Looks like trip to the fabricators when i have a spare moment.
