| oceanova Photographer Location United Kingdom Essex | I tend to read through the forum posts most evenings, and yes I often look at the more controversial posts; it's just human nature I expect. As usual the same names tend to crop up and they are usually spoiling for an argument, my question to these people, you know who you are, are you this argumentative in the real world or is it because you can hide behind the anonymity of cyber space? Somebody makes what they feel is a justified statement, maybe they don't think through the statement, maybe they already know the answer but need the reassurance from there peers but you can guarantee there will be a handful of people who will personally try to shoot them down, humilate them or belittle them into either leaving the site or remaining silent for fear of more retribution from the experts. Are you this angry in real life? I tend not to get into too many arguments in the real world due to my appearance however I will normally argue a point if i feel I am right. I just wonder if these people get excited verbally assassinating people, is it a power thing, little man (woman) syndrome or a sexual thing? waiting with my chin stuck out for the first swipe........ |

| JimiMohan Photographer Location Europe Luxembourg Colmar-Berg | Well mostly I read in the forums is " This happen to me I am upset " " If you don't like something then shut the " Well why did you reply to the forum if you have to be rude" "you posted in an open forum , everyone has the RIGHT to post " " Exactly " and the battle of "who will be the Alpha lion" continues .... I still find some funny ones and some also informative so I think I will have some fun and some learning log off . Oh yes and to look at the work of people for some inspiration who are never on the forums but their work speaks volume . |

| oceanova Photographer Location United Kingdom Essex | There was a bunch of particularly argumentative types who got themselves kicked off the site a year or two ago, maybe the mods need another sweep; constructive criticism is one thing, suggestive ideas is another but to constantly ridicule is just being a bully. One photographer springs to mind who asks questions and pretty much gets slaughtered everytime, yet how are they to learn without asking. We are not all professionals, some of us learn by trial and error and asking when we don't know how. |

| RobGolding Photographer Location United Kingdom Gloucestershire Tewkesbury | One of the mods on here is ruder than any of the people who post on the forums, so if they are going to do some housekeeping may I suggest they begin at home? After all, if you are going to behave like a child, you can't really moan if others do, can you? |

| profilepictures Photographer Location United Kingdom Suffolk Bury St Edmunds | You tend not to get into arguments because of your appearance? What an unusual thing to say. In any case, I would think we all give an impression of ourselves and ultimately this will reflect in our enjoyment of the site somehow, sometime. I tend to see the forum concept falling into two broad categories, one centring around photographic issues and the other around general interest and discussion. It's quite easy To have an impression of a person based on their skills and creativity which might be the polar opposite of my view on them generally. In fact it's commonplace. There are some weird anomalies which happen, for instance in the last 24 hours, Rich Dobson of rmd photo, a very quiet and competent photographer, was banned from the site in posting a for sale ad for his 135mm L lens. If that's reason enough for banning a near silent and very respectable photographer then much is open to question about the site. |

| oceanova Photographer Location United Kingdom Essex | You tend not to get into arguments because of your appearance? What an unusual thing to say. In any. I assume its because I'm 6ft6 and my head is shaved, I have found through my mature life people tend not to come upto me shooting there mouth off, and we can only gauge through personal experience surely |
