| jonluton Photographer  Location United Kingdom Norfolk Norwich | This biggest problem with this isn't that they are stopping you from earning in future (a lot of live music contract won't let you license without prior permission). The main problem is that Stone Roses are demanding the rights to license and exploit the photos themselves, so if a magazine/book publisher wants to use your photos from the gig, they can license them and get the fee, instead of the photographer. Unfortunately, there are always young freelance photographers who will do this, which makes it harder for everyone to stand against these kind of releases. |

A lot of the times you only see the contact as you roll up to the venue, it's a  if you have travelled x amount of miles !But, it is about time a stance was made about this ! |

| Crippen Photographer  Location United Kingdom South Yorkshire Sheffield | Unfortunately, one of my closest friends has been shooting them. I've not seen her for a few weeks. Last I heard, she was in France, but I believe she may have just got back to the UK (as I believe have the band). I will certainly grill her for info. next time I see her. BTW, she's in her mid forties, shoots for a living, mostly bands and events, and has recently opened a tiny studio here in Sheffield. So not a complete a numpty. No idea what the deal was, so can't comment on that, but I'll certainly politely enquire. Dave |
