We enjoy cooking and have the usual array of kitchen accessories such as a bread maker, a Kenwood Chef food mixer etc, the George Foreman grill, the sandwich toaster, even a smoothie maker and all of them get used on a regular basis, particularly the Panasonic bread-maker which we use every other day - I can't think of more than four times during the last four years that we've actually bought a loaf of bread and then on three of those occasions it was white sliced bread which we prefer to use when making prawn toast..

The Kenwood Chef is another great tool as it can be used for all sorts of things so again, get's lots of outings. So too, the George Foreman, especially when my partner is on one of her " healthy eating drives " and even the toasted sandwich maker makes a regular appearance. Right now strawberry smoothies/milk shakes are going down well.

In  fact the only thing that rarely if ever gets used is the supposed frothy coffee maker which we found was pretty useless and was actually given to us so we didn't choose to buy it - as neither of us particularly likes coffee, it just sits there doing nothing taking up cupboard space

So which kitchen accessories do you use most and which one(s) just sit there taking up space in your kitchen?

Kettle! I don't drink 'normal' tea or any coffee and my partner tends only to drink it when he's in meetings. Once in a blue moon I'll fancy a cup of tea (herbal, fruit, green, etc), but based on the fact that we went 6 months without owning one, it's safe to say it's pretty much only there for guests

Dishwasher - by the time you clear the remains into the bin, carefully load the thing up, put the chemicals in etc. you could have just done them by hand the old fashioned way.

Most used - Big knife, I use it for everything (Marco Pierre-White has always got one in his hand so its obviously an essential for men in a kitchen)

Least used - Garlic Press again (complete waste of time, thats what big knives are for)

PS Why do women insist on trying to chop things with very small knives?

Conversely, my garlic press gets used a good 2-3 times a week!

Those are great. We never buy bread any more.

Least used ... a pasta rolling thing.

I have something in a drawer that was there when we moved in, neither of us know what it's for, so it's never been used.
