I am an amateur photographer interested in figure and portraiture. I will not press a model to try levels at which she/he has not indicated that they will be comfortable to work. I was a member of The Camera Club 1992-2006, which taught me a lot about lighting, which I am trying to pass on at local level through a regular monthly studio evening at my local club, which I was honoured to be president of during 2006-2009. I am now a camera club cutodian in PureStorm at http://www.purestorm.com/profile.aspx?id=St_Neots_DCC and am responsible for most of the lighting set-ups done at the club. In the past I have hired a studio when I want to shoot a model (and sometimes still do), but have my own lights and backgrounds, and sometimes use a local hall. In April 2011 I gained the CPAGB distinction using images from many of my sessions with Purestorm models. My ambition is to turn this into a DPAGB in a couple of years. So far, I have had two accepances into the annual federation exhibition, one in 2010 and one in 2012.

Had a lovely evening shooting with Hugh and colleagues at the St Neotts club yesterday. All were polite and professional, I was very well-looked-after, the evening ran to time and the pics I've already seen are fab. Thanks Hugh.

Had a brilliant shoot at the photography club with Hugh. Not only is he wonderful photographer with great imagination, he is also a perfect gentleman who goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable. Would differently shoot with him or the club again was real fun, thanks Hugh.

I shot with Hugh recently at the Works studio. He is friendly and polite, knowledgeable on lighting and keen to get good results. He made me feel comfortable from the start of the shoot and I would recommend him to models of all experience levels.
